Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the Institute of Space Science & Engineering (ISSE) collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only, not the separate systems run by NASRDA or the African University of Science and Technology.

Who we are

What we collect

We only hold what you type into this site:

• Enquiry form — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the programme you are interested in, and your message.
• Newsletter — your email address, and which page you subscribed from.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Why we hold it

• To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, guide you through admissions.
• To send you news and announcements, but only if you asked us to.
• To keep the site working and secure.

We rely on your consent for the newsletter, and on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us for enquiries.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for marketing. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — stores enquiries, subscriptions and uploaded images on our behalf.
• EmailJS — delivers our newsletter emails.
• Google Maps — the map on our contact page is served by Google, which may see your IP address when the map loads.

These providers operate servers outside Nigeria, so your information may be stored abroad under contractual safeguards. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last exchange with you, unless you become a student, in which case Institute record-keeping rules apply. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Write to admissions@isse.edu.ng and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Unsubscribing

Every newsletter email carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom, which takes effect immediately. You can also ask us to remove you by email.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Staff signing in to the administration area have a session token stored in their own browser, which is required for them to stay signed in.

Children

Our programmes are postgraduate, and this site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
